Meet one our newest franchise teams, Kevin Horkan and his stepson, Aaron O’Sullivan, who recently opened their new Access4Lofts branch in Wimbledon.

Kevin and Aaron are a great pairing. Neither of them had any experience of loft work, but their skills and backgrounds complement each other perfectly. Aaron started out as a trainee accountant, but soon realised that sitting in an office all day just wasn’t for him, and moved into installing air-conditioners while he looked for a more practical career in the long-term. Kevin’s work history, on the other hand, couldn’t be more different. He was in the telecoms sector for more than 30 years, with the last 14 spent as senior accountant manager for a major UK firm.

 When Kevin was made redundant back in 2021, his extensive experience managing multi-million pound accounts meant he had plenty of options for continuing his lucrative corporate career elsewhere. However, he decided it was time to forge his own path, and to take Aaron with him.

“I went to a few interviews, but I realised my instinct was that I didn’t want to do this anymore, and would rather be involved in something entirely different.” Kevin told us. “ What attracted me the most to Access4Lofts is that it is a lot more than just a ‘doing’ franchise, it’s a management franchise too. It’s setup to help you create a successful, long-term business.”

There are also so many videos and manuals for us to come back to later – we haven’t needed them just yet, but we know where to find them!”
